Multiscale Represenatation by Nonlinear Diffusion
Multiscale representation is a very successful method to simulate the
human visual system for the simultaneous and multiple representations of
an image in different levels of detail. There are two categories of methods
for this method, linear and nonlinear representation. From our experiments,
we find that the nonlinear process is more accurate and comprehensive.
We have used it in our halftoning process. The other apllication is supposed
to develop a new low vision system combining the nonlinear PDE system with
the relaxation labeling process.
