Abstract

I will present a wave propagation algorithm for computing medial axis surfaces, curves and nodes from 3D samples of surfaces, e.g. as obtained when scaning pottery sherds.

I will first summarize a paper I recently presented at ISMM'00:

I will describe some details on how to recover the sub-voxel trace of symmetry sheets and curves:

I will then say a few words about a related problem: Meshing unorganized surface samples:

Joint work with Prof. Kimia.
