Abstract

Second degree surface patches along a contour generator can be reconstructed from the three or more images if camera motion is known. Even with noise present in the images, the contour information from intensity information and curves on surface, can be used to achieve the optimal local parameters estimation. When the contour generator sweeps along the surface, a collection of surface patches can be obtained and optimally combining these patches is performed in order to arrive at a roughly globally optimal object estimation.
