In this talk, we will give an overview of some object recognition algorithms and evaluate their performances on a dataset of objects from a manufacturing environment. The methods compared include invariants of implicit polynomials, Scale Invariant Feature Transform, Shape Context, deformable models, illumination insensitive eigenspaces, curvature scale space analysis, independent component analysis, Fourier coefficients and moment invariants.
