2nd Digital Archaeology Grant from ITR/NSF

Professors David Cooper and Benjamin Kimia of LEMS are part of a multidisciplinary project also involving the Applied Math Dept., the Center for Old World Archaeology and Art, the Visual Arts Dept., and the Media Research Lab. at New York University. This is a four-year $2+ million grant, which started in the Fall of 2002.

Professor Silverman's Patent for Voice Activated Camera Licensed to Polycom

A voice activated camera developed by Professor Silverman's Speech Research Group within LEMS has been licensed to Polycom, a key player in the videoconferencing products market. The technology enables a camera to locate and focus on a speaker, for example during a conference or meeting.
