Alpha Update

This talk will provide a summary of the Alpha microprocessor roadmap
and the Alpha Server systems that use them.  I will then present an
overview of the Alpha 21364 microprocessor the next new member of the
Alpha family. The talk will conclude with an overview of the
microprocessor design flow, highlighting the diverse set of skills
required to produce these designs.

Pete Bannon is a principal member of technical staff in Compaq's Alpha
Development Group. He has participated in the design and verification of several
microprocessor chips including the Alpha 21164 and Alpha 21164PC.  He
is currently co-architect of the Alpha 21364 design.  Pete joined
Digital in 1984 after receiving a B.S. in computer system design from
the University of Massachusetts. He holds nine patents for VAX and
Alpha CPU design.
